2nd Update to the current situation

From the The Board of Deacons at St. Mark, Washington, DC on 1/28/2016:

To all the beloved members of the St. Mark’s family,

We hope that everyone had a safe time and enjoyed the snow and the days off.  As we promised to keep you updated as things develop, we would like to share with you the following news:

We were recently informed that Father Bishoy Andrawes and his wife have left to Egypt to meet with His Holiness Pope Tawadros soon. We ask you all to continue to pray fervently for this meeting and for the peace and unity of our church.

As we indicated to you earlier, the Clergy and Board of St. Mark’s are very grateful for the spiritual and prayerful manner in which our church family has responded to this situation, and we ask you to continue to do that. To that end, we plead with you to use social media wisely in a way that glorifies God and builds His Church.

Last night, January 27th, we started a spiritual meeting for the whole church family which will take place every Wednesday night from 7pm-8:30pm. We encourage all of you to join us and grow the spirit of unity and love in our church.  Starting next week, we will start a series on St. Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians.

Lastly, please take note that starting this Sunday we will have a schedule change in the timing of the liturgies from now on. There will only be two liturgies on Sundays.  The schedule will be as follows:

In his previous letter, Abouna stated that he would rather resign than change his ways. In this light, can we really believe any undertakings he might make to His Holiness in this regard?
